SINGAPORE – Keppel Subic Shipyard has a contract from Shell Philippines Exploration to build a depletion compression platform (DCP) for the Malampaya gas field development.
The DCP will be bridge linked to the existing shallow-water production platform near Palawan Island, underPhase 3 of the Malampaya Deepwater Gas-to-Power project. It will maintain current availability and deliverability of natural gas from the Malampaya field by regulating gas export pressure and flow rates.
Keppel Subic is responsible for the fabrication, integration of the topside modules, and construction of the connecting bridge. The DCP’s gas compression facilities will be mounted on a barge deck, supported by four tubular legs on base footings.
The Phase 3 project is led by the Philippine Department of Energy, supported by project operator Shell and its joint venture partners, Chevron Malampaya LLC and the Philippine National Oil Co.-Exploration Corp (PNOC-EC).
Keppel Shipyard in Singapore confirms it has entered into a term sheet agreement with Golar LNG to collaborate on conversion of up to three LNG vessels into floating LNG vessels. Keppel will start with a front-end engineering and design study to confirm the engineering and work scope.
Upon completion, it will then work with Golar LNG on the conversion and engineering of the first of the three vessels, with an option to convert the other two at a later date.
