North Sea Ivar Aasen field development plan imminent

TRONDHEIM, Norway – Det norske oljeselskap expects to submit a plan of development and operation next month for the Ivar Aasen field in the Norwegian North Sea.
It delivered theenvironmental impact assessment in September. Estimated cost of the development is NOK 24.3 billion ($4.3 billion). First oil is planned for Oct. 1, 2016.
Tenders have been received for the main engineering contracts and most awards will be issued next year. Det norske has a 35% operating interest in Ivar Aasen.
On theJette field, also in the North Sea, the company has resolved technical issues by drilling two shorter horizontal wells into the field’s southern segment with respectively 600 and 1,200 m (1,968 and 3,937 ft) of sand screens. Volume estimates range between 5 and 9 MMbbl.
