STOCKHOLM, Sweden – The Alen field development in block I offshore Equatorial Guinea is on track for first production during the second half of 2013, according to partner PA Resources (PAR).
Fabrication activities are advanced, and installation of flexible lines and umbilicals should get under way in the next few weeks.
Noble has secured theAtwood Hunter rig for a drilling program in the region, which will probably include an exploration well on block I in 2013. Targets include a prospect on a trend proven by the 2011 block O Carla discovery and an appraisal well on the Diega discovery.
At block H, where PAR is also a partner,operator White Rose Energy is looking for a rig to drill the offshore Aleta prospect.
In the North Sea, PAR has provisionally been awarded block 22/19a under the UK’s 27th licensing round.
The block contains the undeveloped Fiddich gas/condensate field, discovered in 1984, and adjoining the PAR-operated block 22/18c. The company will operate the new license in partnership with First Oil and Gas.
PAR continues to look for a rig for further drilling on Danish North Sea license 12/06 and it is working on appraisal requirements and field development options.
Finally, PAR has received formal approval for a license extension on block 8 offshore western Greenland.
