Prosafe could build three more offshore accommodation semis

LARNACA, Cyprus -- Prosafe has a letter of intent with Jurong Shipyard for construction of a semisubmersible accommodation rig in Singapore.

The design will be similar to theSafe Boreas under construction at the same yard, and the rig will be built to comply with Norwegian offshore regulations.

It should be ready for operations in the North Sea in 2015.

Jurong has granted Prosafe two options forfurther newbuilds.

Earlier, BP Norge exercised a one-month option to keep theSafe Scandinavia in operation at the Valhall field until Dec. 31.
