OSLO, Norway – Bridge Energy (OAX: BRIDGE; AIM: BRDG.L) says operations have started on the Asha/Noor exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea.
The semisubmersibleBredford Dolphin is drilling well 16/1-16 on the Utsira High to test the Noor, Mukta, Zechstein, and Draupne/Asha reservoirs.
Wintershall is operator with a 40%; Bridge, E.ON Ruhrgas, and VNG Norge all have a 20% share.
Another German company,RWE Dea, has signed an agreement with Dolphin Drilling to use the Bredford Dolphin as part of an eight-well campaign over 570 days coordinated by AGR. Lundin, Noreco, and Repsol are the other co-signatories. There is also an extension option covering a minimum of five further wells.
The contract provides RWE Dea Norge with rig capacity for its planned program over the next few years in license PL 420 in the North Sea, which the company operates with a 30% interest.
The rig is lined up to drill an appraisal well on the Titan discovery toward end-2013 – current estimates are 12 MMcmoe recoverable.
RWE Dea has further plans for an exploration well in early 2014 using the semisubLeiv Eiriksson.
“The year ahead will be very active for RWE Dea Norge,” said the company’s managing director Hans-Joachim Polk. “As well as drilling two wells at Titan, we’re also going ahead with an exploration well at our PL330 license in the Norwegian Sea, as well as taking important steps in the development of theZidane field.”
