North Sea Causeway close to oil production start up

First oil should flow this summer from the Causeway field in the UK northern North Sea, according to partner Antrim Energy (LON:AEY).

CALGARY, Canada – First oil should flow this summer from the Causeway field in the UK northern North Sea, according to partner Antrim Energy (LON:AEY).
Subsea pipelay has been completed, and a semisubmersible rig is working on the 211/23d-17z producer well completion. Causeway’s oil will be transported to the TAQA-operated Cormorant North platform.
Start up of the associated Fionn field in block 211/22a is set for mid-2013, assuming government approval for the development plan is imminent.Fionn’s subsea facilities have already been installed.
Nearby, Antrim expects drilling to start this month on the TAQA-operatedContender prospect in block 211/22a Contender Area (Antrim 8.4%).
Finally, Antrim and Premier Oil have contracted a semisub to drill the Tertiary Cromarty Cyclone prospect in license P1784 block 21/7b. Operations are expected to start in October.
