LONDON – The sixth and final well has been completed on the E.ON Ruhrgas-operated Huntington field development in the UK central North Sea.
Performance of three of the four producer wells has exceeded expectations, according to partner Premier Oil.
Theupgrade of theVoyageur FPSO is nearing completion. The vessel is being inspected ahead of providing confirmation to the subsea installation vessel of an installation window in October. Sailaway of the FPSO is expected in September, with first oil targeted by year-end.
At the Rochelle development, a tieback to the Scott platform in the central North Sea, subsea installation is under way, with the pipelay vessel due on location in September. Related upgrades continue to the Scott platform.
The first of two development wells was spudded in July, and is expected to be completed in October. This well will be tied into the platform ahead of first gas (by year-end), with a second well to follow.
Premier operates the $850-millionSolan development project west of Shetland. Awilco’s semisubmersible Wilphoenix will perform development drilling from 1Q 2013 through 2014. Drydocks World - Dubai has been awarded fabrication of the subsea storage tank and Heerema will perform all installations.
During spring 2013, Premier expects to return to exploration on theCatcher license in the central North Sea, and drilling the Bonneville prospect. Further prospects are being matured for drilling at later dates.
Elsewhere in the UK North Sea, Premier will participate in an upcoming exploratory well on the Spaniards East prospect in bock 15/25a, close to the Scott field. The same rig will then drill the Cyclone prospect on block 21/7b.
Later this year, a well is expected to spud on the high-pressure/high-temperature Lacewing prospect in block 23/21.
