ABU DHABI, UAE – Qatar Petroleum (QP) has joined the global oil and gas technology facilitator ITF.
The company will work with otherITF members in the region on new solutions to boost oil and gas production in the Middle East. Existing members include Petroleum Development Oman, Kuwait Oil Co., and Aramco Services Co.
QP believes this united approach will assist its plans for further exploration and production at offshore and onshore fields.
ITF has a base in Abu Dhabi, and this year launched a Middle East cluster group to bring together oil and gas companies to collaboratively identify and tackle technology challenges in the region. These include water management, heavy oil, asset integrity, and enhanced oil recovery.
Ryan McPherson, ITF’s regional director in the Middle East and Asia/Pacific, said a first call for proposals had been issued on thesubject of produced water.
