OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has approved Statoil’s plan to remove the SPM-C loading buoy from the Statfjord field in the North Sea.
The buoy is located in block 33/9 in a water depth of 145.7 m (478 ft). The activity is expected to start in July.
Elsewhere, PSA has authorized Statoil to use the semisubmersibleScarabeo 5 to drill and complete a production well on Visund Sør, an oil and gas field between the Gullfaks C and Visund facilities in block 34/8. The field is 125 km (78 mi) west-northwest of Bulandet, and is being developed with a subsea template that will be connected to Gullfaks C. Water depth in the area is about 290 m (951 ft). Drilling will start mid-July at the earliest, with a planned duration of 60 days.
Finally, Statoil has consent for production drilling, completion, intervention work, well cleaning, and well testing operations on the Heidrun, Ă…sgard, Norne, Urd and Skuld fields using the drilling rigDeepsea Bergen. Planned start-up is Aug. 1.
