CALGARY, Canada –Husky Energy has provided an update on its E&P activities offshore eastern Canada.
A two-well pilot scheme is in progress at theWest White Rose satellite extension field. Data from the pilot will influence the full-field development.
Later this year the company plans an in-fill well at the main White Rose field, and development drilling will continue at North Amethyst. Late last year Husky filed an application to amend the North Amethyst development plan to include the deeper Hibernia reservoir.
The company is evaluating a wellhead and drilling platform to support future development in the White Rose region, and this month contracts were awarded to support pre-front-end engineering and design (pre-FEED) and FEED. In addition, Husky has contracted engineering design work concerning a wellhead platform for the White Rose satellite field development.
Planned maintenance during 2012 includes the White Rose off-station program, to help maintain high facility uptime and support future development activity.
TheSeaRose FPSO is scheduled to start its off-station program in May. The 125-day exercise will feature disconnect, dry dock, and reconnecting activities.
“TheSeaRose had a 98% uptime performance in 2011, due in large part to our commitment to maintain operational integrity,” said COO Rob Peabody.
“We have been planning this off-station for more than a year and are using the opportunity to complete a full slate of work while the vessel is in dry dock and on the voyage to and from the field.”
