OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has approved use of the semisub Transocean Barents to drill four wells on the Jette field.
Jette is an oil and gas field in the southern part of the Norwegian North Sea, 180 km (112 mi) west of Haugesund, in 127 m (416 ft) of water.
Det norske oljeselskap received approval for its Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) in February, which involves a subsea tieback to the ExxonMobil-operatedJotun field. Start-up is scheduled for 1Q 2013.
The rig will drill and complete wells Jette Sør 25/8-A-1 AH and Jette Nord 25/8-B-1 H, observation well 25/8 A 1 H and shallow gas pilot well 25/8-U-25. The program should last around 155 days.
PSA has also authorized ConocoPhillips Scandinavia to use the mobile living quarter rigSafe Scandinavia as a flotel at Eldfisk 2/7 E in the North Sea from May 1 to September 1.
During that period, the current living quarter facilityCOSL Rigmar will be at a shipyard for recertification.
Safe Scandinavia will be moored west of the 2/7-E platform with a gangway connection.
