LONDON– Premier Oil says a well on the Anoa field off Indonesia has generated gas from the Lama formation.
On February 6, theWest Calisto rig deepened the WL-5 development well in Natuna Sea Block A to a TD of 11,012 ft (3,356 m) to investigate the potential of the Lama formation. It encountered around 300 ft (91 m) of fractured Lama sandstones.
The subsequent test over the interval 10,658-10,770 ft (3,248-3,282 m) MD flowed gas at 17 MMcf/d through a 48/64-in. choke. Results will be integrated with log and seismic data to determine the recoverable resource of this deeper reservoir, which will be produced through the Anoa facilities.
The rig will next drill the Biawak Besar prospect for Premier on the same blocks, with results expected in April.
