The newbuild jackup Bahari 1 has completed the A12Z well on the East Zeit field offshore Egypt.

ABERDEEN, UK – The newbuild jackup Bahari 1 has completed the A12Z well on the East Zeit field offshore Egypt.
This is the first of a three-well program planned for East Zeit this year, and the first multi-well campaign on the field since 2004.
The well was commissioned by Zeitco, a joint venture between Dana Petroleum and Egyptian General Petroleum Company (EGPC).
Initial production rates have exceeded 1,000 b/d of oil. Dana says the new well should significantly enhance production from the East Zeit field, which was previously delivering around 3,400 b/d.
In January Dana achieved first oil from the Matr-1XST well at its operated North Zeit Bay PSC area.
