RUEIL MALMAISON, France – Schneider Electric has won an order from Aker Solution to design and implement a seabed controls power distribution unit for the Asgard subsea compression station.
Statoil’s Asgard project is offshore Norway in 300 m (984 ft) water depth. The compression station is scheduled to start in 2014.
The design and build for the CPDU includes specific studies into availability, thermal and mechanical, operational safety, and electromagnetic compatibility. Together with the project engineering these account for a significant part of the contract value, said Schneider
This project comprises a series of tests to demonstrate compliance with the specifications of subsea oil and gas standard ISO13628-6.
