CALGARY, Canada – Talisman Energy spent $298 million on its various North Sea development projects during Q3 2011. However, production was lower due to maintenance and safety programs and natural field declines.

In the UK sector, the Buchan, Ross/Blake and Claymore fields are now back online, as is Rev offshore Norway. The Tartan platform remains shut down while safety-related upgrades are implemented.

During Q4 the company expects its North Sea production to average 100,000 boe/d. Next year, it plans to bring online a fourth development well at Auk North and drill infill wells at Tweedsmuir and Rev to offset natural declines.

Offshore Norway, the company completed two wells and well interventions this summer at the Gyda complex. Offshore commissioning continues at the Yme field re-development, and Talisman anticipates start-up by mid-2012.
