SHARJAH, UAE – Nexen Petroleum has contracted Lamprell to build two decks for the newly sanctioned Golden Eagle development in the UK central North Sea.
The total contract value is over $200 million.
Lamprell’s Jebel Ali facility will construct both structures. One will be a two-level wellhead deck measuring 50 x 50 m (164 x 164 ft) and weighing 4,000 metric tons (4,409 tons). It is scheduled for completion in Q2 2013.
The other will be a three-level production, utilities and quarters deck measuring 85 x 40 m (279 x 131 ft), weighing 10,000 Mt (11,023 t), and scheduled for completion in Q2 2014.
