OSLO, Norway – Britain’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has approved Bridge’s plan for development of the Victoria Phase 2 project in the UK southern North Sea.
Victoria field is in licence P033, block 49/17. The field was first developed in 2008 as a subsea tieback to the ConocoPhillips-operated Viking BD facilities.
Currently the field produces 7,500 MMcf/d (1,250 boe/d). Phase 2 calls for a further subsea well tied back 70 m (230 ft) to the existing Victoria subsea infrastructure.
This will be a horizontal well, hydraulically fracture stimulated, which should add around 1,700 boe/d production. First gas scheduled in 2012 or early 2013, subject to rig availability.
