Petrobras and BG Brasil sign agreement to develop pre-salt technologies

Petrobras and BG Brasil have signed a technical cooperation agreement to develop key technological solutions for overcoming the challenges they face.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras and BG Brasil have signed a technical cooperation agreement to develop key technological solutions for overcoming the challenges they face.

The three-year agreement will initially cover well construction and production optimization. Over this period, joint investments are projected at some R$60 million ($33.7 million) for developing the technological solutions required.

The agreement was signed by Petrobras E&P Production Manager Solange Guedes, and by BG Brasil CEO Nelson Silva.

In the pre-salt area, BG Brasil and Petrobras are working together in blocks BM-S-11 (Lula, Cernambi and Iara), BM-S-9 (Carioca and Guará), BM-S-10, BM-S-50 and BM-S-52, all in the Santos basin.
