OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has approved BG Norge’s request for manned underwater operations on the Gaupe field in the North Sea. The field is being developed with two subsea wells tied in to BG’s Armada facility on the UK side.
Technip UK will perform saturation diving in connection with the Gaupe development using the DSV Skandi Arctic. Water depth at the site is 82-90 m (269-295 ft).
Gaupe is on the median line between the Norwegian and UK sectors, 12 km (7.5 mi) south of the Talisman-operated Varg complex.
Technip’s program will start this month and should last 30 days, 12 of these days on the Norwegian shelf.
