LONDON – Ascent Resources (Netherlands) has received confirmation from the Dutch government of the extension of its M10/M11 shallow water block licenses through June 30, 2013.
The M10/M11 appraisal project is off the north coast of the Netherlands. According to Ascent there are three known structures in the license area, all containing discovery wells with gas present in the Slochteren unit of the Rotligendes sandstones.
A conceptual development plan has been prepared and the partners plan to drill a final appraisal well in the second half of next year to confirm reservoir parameters for the detail project design.
This will be an appraisal of the Terschelling Noord discovery, in a structure that sits partly within the license area and partly in the area to the south. The well would likely be converted to a producer for the development.
Ascent has a 54% interest in the project, in partnership with EBN Nederland and GTO.
