FMC wins Knarr subsea support role

BG Norge has contracted FMC Technologies for subsea production equipment for the Knarr oil and gas field development in the Norwegian North Sea.

HOUSTON – BG Norge has contracted FMC Technologies for subsea production equipment for the Knarr oil and gas field development in the Norwegian North Sea. The contract value is around $135 million.

Knarr (ex-Jordbaer) is in block 34/3 in around 1,320 ft (400 m) water depth. FMC's scope includes three subsea production trees and three water injection trees. It will also provide six subsea control modules, five wellheads, two manifolds and related equipment and controls. Deliveries will start in spring 2013.

"This is the first call-off order under the new multi-year frame agreement," said Tore Halvorsen, FMC's senior vice president, Global Subsea Production Systems. "We recently completed a detailed engineering study for the project.”
