ABERDEEN, Scotland – KCA DEUTAG says it is one of two companies contracted by Woodside Energy to conduct front-end engineering and design (FEED) work on a 3,000 hp modular platform drilling rig for use at the Browse Liquefied Natural Gas Development offshore Australia.
The rig is to drill large-bore gas wells to 9,000 m (29,527 ft) and have the ability to move between dry-tree units on a TLP. The dry trees will be over Calliance and Brecknock fields 270 km (168 mi) off Western Australia.
Browse LNG is a joint venture with BHP Billiton, BP, Chevron, and Shell, says Woodside.
