OSLO, Norway -- Dong E&P Norge should start drilling the Oselvar development wells this month in the southern Norwegian North Sea.
This follows consent from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to use the jackupMaersk Giant for the three horizontal wells (1/3-A-1H, -2H, and -3H). The program should last around 305 days.
Oselvar, discovered in 1991, straddles production licenses 274 and 274CS. Water depth is around 72 m (236 ft). Towards end-2011, production will be routed to BP’s Ula complex, which also handles output from the Tambar and Blane fields.
