HOUSTON – Nexen Petroleum’s Scott platform will handle production from the East Rochelle field in the UK central North Sea.
Endeavour, the operator of East Rochelle, has agreed to commercial terms for transportation and offtake, and now plans to award contracts and start construction of the production facilities.
Chairman and CEO William L. Transier said: "Endeavour can now move forward expeditiously to achieve first production in 2012. This off-take solution is expected to incorporate the production at West Rochelle, the second phase of the development of the Greater Rochelle area, which will be on a simultaneous track with East Rochelle."
Britain’s Department of Energy and Climate Change approved the Rochelle field development plan in February. This calls for a subsea development linked by a 30-km (18.6-mi) pipeline to production facilities on the Scott platform.
First production from East Rochelle is expected during the second half of 2012. Endeavour holds a 55.6% interest in the development, the remainder owned by Nexen.
