WEST PERTH, Australia -- Apache Northwest has completed its “Gazelle” 3D seismic acquisition program over the WA-399-P permit in the Carnarvon basin off Western Australia.

According to partner Carnarvon Petroleum, the data will be processed and interpreted before the joint venture (also including Jacka Resources and Rialto Energy) decides on future exploration.

Apache has borne the full cost of the seismic campaign under a farm-in agreement.

The block is adjacent to BHP/Apache’s Pyrenees oil development, which started production in February 2010. Other nearby producing oil fields include Enfield and Vincent/Van Gogh – another, the Macedon gas field, is currently under development.
