LUXEMBOURG -- Subsea 7 has won a $75-million pipeline engineering contract in the German sector of the North Sea.
The contract was awarded by ConocoPhillips Skandinavia, acting as technical service provider for Norwegian operator Gassco.
Subsea 7 will provide engineering, procurement, and installation of a 350-m (1,148-ft) long subsea pipeline bypass around the B11 platform.
The bypass arrangement will comprise five spools. The final two connections will be tied into the pipeline using hyperbaric welding, enabling the bypass of the B11 platform and tie-ins into the 36-in. (91.4-cm) Norpipe gas export pipeline.
Engineering starts in the second half of this year, with offshore operations to be conducted mainly in 2013.
