Offshore staff
OSLO, Norway -- Statoil has clearance from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill a wildcat well in the Norwegian North Sea.
The semisubmersible Transocean Leaderwill drill well 15/6-12 in production license PL 303 after it has finished work on an exploratory well in PL 269.
The new well will be drilled in block 15/6, northeast of Statoil’s 15/5-1 Dagny discovery, and just north of the Sleipner Vest field.
This will be the sixth well drilled on PL 303, which was awarded in December 2003 under Norway’s APA 2003 licensing round.
