CONSTANTA, Romania – GSP Offshore has installed of new subsea pipelines connecting two subsea satellite fields to Melrose Resources’ Galata platform in the Bulgarian sector of the Black Sea.
The construction vesselGSP Bigfoot 1 installed 8.5 km (5.3 mi) of 6-in. (15-cm) diameter pipeline, 14.5 km (9 mi) of 10-in. (25.4-cm) pipeline, and two piggyback 1-in. (2.5-cm) lines. These connect the Kavarna-2 and Kaliakra-2 subsea wellheads to the Galata platform. The vessel has since returned to Constanta Sud – Agigea port to prepare for new pipeline operations.
GSP Bigfoot 3, a heavy lift vessel, performed completion operations and testing for the project, supported by the GSP Queen and Amber II vessels.
