DUBAI, UAE -- Drydocks World’s shipyard in Dubai has performed the naming ceremony for the newly built seismic vessel WG Cook.
The high-capacity, 12-streamer 3D seismic vessel is the second built at the yard for WesternGeco. Its predecessor, WG Tasman, was delivered in 1Q 2010.
WG Cook, now undergoing final touches, is 88.8 m (291 ft) long, 8 m (26 ft) in depth, and 19 m (62 ft) wide. The diesel-electric driven vessel, an Ulstein SX 124 design, incorporates the X-bow hull, engineered for high performance in terms of speed, fuel efficiency, reduced noise, and reduced vibration.
The vessel also complies with DNV Clean Design to ensure minimum emissions.
