RWE Dea farms into Clipper South

RWE Dea AG has reached an agreement with Fairfield Energy to farm-in to the undeveloped Clipper South gas field in the southern British North Sea.

LONDON -- RWE Dea AG has reached an agreement with Fairfield Energy to farm-in to the undeveloped Clipper South gas field in the southern British North Sea.

Under the terms of the agreement, RWE Dea will acquire 50% equity in part of blocks 48/19a, 48/19c, and 48/20a. RWE Dea UK will assume operatorship to develop the field, which holds an estimated gas volume of 12 bcm.

The company plans to develop the field using up to six horizontal multi-fractured wells from a single platform. First gas is expected in 2011.
