Bluewhale contracts CTC for cable lay

Bluewhale Offshore Engineering Technology has awarded CTC Marine Projects Ltd. a $15 million contract for the installation of three inter-platform power cables measuring 78 km (48 mi) in the Wenchang field, offshore China.

HAUGESUND, Norway -- Bluewhale Offshore Engineering Technology has awarded CTC Marine Projects Ltd. a $15 million contract for the installation of three inter-platform power cables measuring 78 km (48 mi) in the Wenchang field, offshore China.

CTC will use the DP-2 vesselMaersk Recorder, which will be mobilizing immediately from Singapore. On completion of the cable lay scope, the vessel will remain in China in cooperation with Bluewhale, where it will provide a series of professional services. These will include, SAT diving support work, subsea power cable installation, subsea pipeline/cable trenching, and burial as well as riser installation.
