Offshore staff
MILAN, Italy -- A five-year contract work $840 million was awarded to Saipem by Eni Norge for charter of the semisubmersible rig Scarabeo 8 to drill in the North Sea.
The rig can operate in 3,000 m of water and drill to 10,000 m. The contract is scheduled to begin in 3Q09 and run to 3Q14 with an extenion option.
The rig is under construction at Severodvinsk, Russia. Installation of the drilling equipment has not be let.
