(Mexico)- Mexico's state oil company Pemex will add an FPSO to the Ku-Maloob-Zaap project in Campeche state to start operations in 2007, according to a Pemex spokesperson.
The FPSO has a storage capacity of 2.2 MMbbl of crude, and will have production levels of 200,000 b/d of crude and 120 MMcf/d of gas. The Mayan crude will be produced from the Maloob and Zaap fields, located in the GoM. Production on this project is currently artificially pumped by injecting natural gas and nitrogen into the wells.
Pemex is expected to launch a tender for acquisition of the FPSO sometime in 2006. The spokesperson was unable to provide a specific date.
