SINGAPORE — Strategic Marine has signed a memorandum of understanding on constructing three Brevity-class crew transfer vessels (CTVs) for Purus Wind subsidiary HST Marine, a UK-based offshore vessel owner-operator.
The two parties will now enter negotiations concerning the Chartwell Marine-designed, 27-m-long catamarans.
The Brevity-class CTVs are targeted at the offshore wind support sector. Features are said to include enhanced maneuverability and stability due to optimization of the hull form, with cost-effective and low-emissions operation via hybrid energy systems.
Multiple crew configurations (up to 32 personnel can be accommodated) are said to allow for flexibility in space planning along with enhanced crew comfort during long offshore stays.
Last month, Strategic Marine signed a contract to build four hybrid CTVs for HST Marine with options for two more vessels.
