Aker BP gets go-ahead to operate North Sea Hanz subsea equipment

The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has authorized Aker BP to start using the newly installed subsea templates, associated control cables and pipelines for the Hanz Field development in the central Norwegian North Sea.

OSLO, Norway — The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has authorized Aker BP to start using the newly installed subsea templates, associated control cables and pipelines for the Hanz Field development in the central Norwegian North Sea.

Hanz is a 12-km tieback to the Ivar Aasen Field center to the south, in a water depth of 115 m. The field was discovered in 1997, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 2013.

Production is due to start in 2024.
