OSLO, Norway – Aker BP has permission from the Norwegian Offshore Directorate to start production from the Hanz subsea development in license 028 B in the North Sea.
The tieback to the Ivar Aasen platform involved re-use of subsea equipment that served the Jette field, which was shut down in 2016.
Hanz discovered in 1997, was included in the plan for development and operation (PDO) that previous operator Det Norske Oljeselskap submitted in 2013 for the Ivar Aasen field, situated 200 km from Stavanger.
Aker BP estimates the cost of developing Hanz’s 3.3 MMboe recoverable resources at around NOK4.2 billion ($399 million). The company is targeting start-up during the current quarter.
The partners are Equinor and Sval Energi.
