ADELAIDE, Australia — Beach Energy says the replacement flowline for the Thylacine West 1 and 2 wells in the Otway Basin offshore Victoria is nearing completion.
In a results update, the company added that it aimed to have the flowline installed and first gas production from both wells in the first half of 2025.
The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action has approved a wellsite construction and operations plan for the subsea-beach Enterprise field development, allowing activities to begin.
Recent work has included installation and commissioning of the local equipment room, installation of skids for hydraulic controls and metering, and onsite piping. Subject to final regulatory approvals, Beach is aiming for first gas from Enterprise in the fourth quarter.
In the offshore Bass Basin, the company is assessing development options for the White Ibis, Bass and Trefoil discoveries. Following a sale and purchase agreement, Beach will acquire Prize’s entire interests in the basin, with the deal expected to be completed toward the end of this year.
In the Taranaki Basin offshore New Zealand, the Kupe South 9 gas well came onstream within the field’s eastern fault block and was connected to the Kupe Gas Plant. However, results from initial production suggested constrained flow, leading to a well intervention to identify the cause. This work should be completed later in the year, with the well remaining offline for the time being.
